Not sure what kind of adventure you're seeking?  We created the Unique Mountain Rentals "Peak Rating System" for just that reason!  Each of our properties is rated from 1 to 5 with one being the easiest to access and five being fully off-the-grid and involving some alternative form of transport to access like a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle or snow machine.  Peak ratings are assigned based on the most extreme environment that you will encounter at one of the properties.  For example, in winter a property may be 5 Peaks, but during the summer months, may be 3 Peaks.  Contact us for specific property information.

1 Peak - If it's your first time to a mountain property or you're not quite sure where to start, a 1 Peak property is going to be just like a standard home, but with a much better view!  This property is going to be easiest to access, usually by public transportation or a regular passenger vehicle, so you won't have to worry about getting there.   Access to a 1 Peak property is year round and does not require any special equipment.  This property will be 100% on the grid and will not be restricted in power/water usage (though we still recommend exercising conservation practices).  All normal delivery services, etc, would exist at a 1 Peak property.  Wifi is available and excellent cellular service is generally available depending upon carrier.

2 Peaks - So you're ready to take the next step up in adventure?  A 2 Peak property is going to be slightly more difficult to access, especially during winter months.  But you'll also be rewarded with more seclusion, privacy, and views!  Access to this level of  property is maintained by commercial plowing services, but may still require a 4x4 or All Wheel Drive vehicle in order to access during the winter months.    A 2 Peak property will be on the grid unless otherwise noted (though we still recommend exercising conservation practices).   Delivery services will likely not be available.  Wifi will be available and excellent cellular service is generally available depending upon carrier.

3 Peaks - If you're looking to truly get 'away from it all', this is the best way to do it without going fully immersed in the off grid experience!   3 Peak property can usually be accessed with a regular vehicle, but all wheel drive or 4x4 may be necessary in order to access the property in some cases year round, but almost definitely in winter months.   You might also be required to "pack in-pack out" such as taking trash along with you on your departure (this is due to the possibility of predator intrusion).  A caretaker may be available for assistance.  3 Peak properties will almost always be off the grid, except in rare cases.  Delivery services will likely not be available.  Wifi will be available and excellent cellular service is generally available depending upon carrier.

4 Peaks -  The first level for the true adventure seeker!  If you truly want to get away from everything and connect with nature, this is your Peak level.  First off, a 4 Peak property will require a special vehicle in order to access the property during any time of the year.  Access to the property will be available by Forest Service roads or specialty 4x4 vehicles during all times of the year.  During winter months, a snow machine may be required in order to access the property.  A 4 peak property will be off grid unless otherwise noted.  Delivery services will not be available.  Wifi will be available but in most cases, cellular service will generally NOT be available unless otherwise noted.

5 Peaks - A you yearning for a true adventure?  Do you need to get away in a way that can't be easily done? 5 Peaks is the ultimate off grid experience, while still being able to enjoy many of the comforts of home.   A 5 Peak property will require a high clearance 4x4 vehicle during all times of the year unless otherwise noted.  These properties will be extremely remote and will not have any special services including emergency services.  We strongly recommend having a Corsair card (or equivalent) prior to your arrival.  Winter access will be by snow machine only.  Delivery services will not be available.  5 Peak properties will be off grid unless otherwise noted.  Wifi will be available but cellular service will likely NOT be available at a 5 Peak property unless otherwise noted.
