What happens if I can’t make it to the property?  We will do everything that we can to get you to our property.  Please understand that if you choose to bring the wrong type of vehicle and cannot make it, we are unable to offer refunds, but may offer a credit towards a future stay.

“This is a bit more of an adventure than I bargained for, what should I do?!”  We will work with you to ensure that you can get to the property and have a great experience!

We are going to be driving to your place, but we don’t know if our car is sufficient to access the property.  Do you have any other options?  We do have some transportation options - please contact us (link) for specific questions

Why are the cleaning fees higher on some properties?  Some properties, due to their level of difficulty to access, require higher cleaning fees in order to ensure the property is clean and ready for your arrival.

Are there any items that are restricted in off grid properties?  Please refrain from using ANY devices that produce heat or cool.  Examples include, but are not limited to:  Space heaters, hair dryers, curling irons, heavy duty battery chargers, etc.

Why do I have to take trash with me when I leave at some properties?  Some properties, due to their location are not always able to be serviced in the same day.  Because of their remote nature, there is a high likelihood that bears or other predators will enter the home in search of food.

Do I need to bring wild animal protection with me?  We always recommend having bear spray, at a minimum, in any areas where predators are prevalent.

What types of clothing, etc, will I need?  Depends on the season - check question number two for the best information for the time of year you're coming. 

Do you rent long term i.e. more than 30 days?  We do under certain circumstances - please contact us

Some of your properties are at high altitudes - do I need to prepare before coming?  we recommend staying very well hydrated both before your arrival and during your stay.  This will decrease the chances of having symptoms of altitude sickness.  Also, there are oxygen canisters and all natural altitude medication (link) the will help with it as well.  Refraining from consuming alcohol prior to and during your visit will also help.

Do you offer discounts for repeat guests?  Yes we do!  Please contact us for the best rates..

Are all of your properties pet friendly and is there a fee for the number or size of pets?  All of our properties are pet friendly and we do not charge pet fees!  (who charges extra fees for family?!)  That being said, in order to maintain our policy of not charging for pets, we do ask that a few very simple cleanup steps are done prior to your checkout.

Do you allow smoking indoors or outdoors at your properties?   This varies by property and can best be found in each property’s rules and policies.

I would rather not rent a car - do you have any transportation options?  In Denver, we do.  Please contact us for the most up-to-date information.

Do you ever need caretakers at your properties?  We do!  If you are interested, we do have an interview process as well as a full background check, but we would love to talk to you about it!  Please contact us

Do you ever sell your properties?  Since we put so much time, money, and research into each property that we procure, we very rarely sell our properties.  However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t.  Contact us for more info.

Do you offer any kinds of “add-on” experiences or services?  At some of our properties, yes.  We do have guides for each of our areas that recommend restaurant, bar, sightseeing and other activities, but we do offer other services on a limited basis.  Contact us for more info.

I am traveling with my trailer/RV/Motorhome - do you have hookups and/or parking?  Most of our properties will have parking, but the better question would be whether or not it makes sense to bring your rig to the location.  The best thing would be to let us know what you’re planning to bring and to which property, and we can give you a great idea of what we can offer.

I really want to vacation in the “” area - do you have a property there?  If it isn’t listed on our website, we don’t have a property there.  But, we DO have a wishlist where you can request that we look at a location and type of home.  If we get enough requests and the area works for our niche and we’re able to find the right property, yes!

Why don’t you recommend following my GPS?  GPS doesn’t always account for rough roads - they generally take you in the way that’s shortest or fastest.  That’s not always the best option for a lot of our properties!  We send turn-by-turn directions and ask that you follow them rather than a GPS.  This is the best way to ensure that you don’t damage your vehicle!
